Vice President

Job Title: Vice President

Organization: The United Brotherhood of America

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Job Summary: The Vice President (VP) will play a critical role in the leadership and management of The United Brotherhood of America. This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting the organization's mission and goals. The VP will work closely with the CEO and the Board of Directors to develop and execute the organization's strategic plan and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

  • Develop and implement strategies to advance the organization's mission and goals.

  • Oversee program development and delivery, ensuring the highest quality and impact.

  • Manage budgets, financial reporting, and ensure financial sustainability.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and community members.

  • Represent the organization at events, conferences, and in the media.

  • Support the CEO in Board of Directors meetings and other governance activities.

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of senior management experience in the non-profit sector.

  • Proven track record of successful leadership and management of teams.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.

  • Passion for the mission and values of the organization.

Treasurer

Job Title: Treasurer

Organization: The United Brotherhood of America

Location: Atlanta, GA

Reports to: Board of Directors

Job Summary: The Treasurer plays a crucial role in the financial oversight and sustainability of The United Brotherhood of America. This position is responsible for managing the organization's financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting the Board of Directors in fulfilling their fiduciary responsibilities. The Treasurer works closely with the Executive Director and finance team to maintain the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial operations of the organization, including budgeting, financial planning, and cash flow management.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and finance team to develop and monitor the annual budget.

  • Review and approve financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.

  • Provide financial analysis and guidance to the Board of Directors, including regular updates on the organization's financial status.

  • Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.

  • Manage relationships with financial institutions, donors, and other stakeholders.

  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the non-profit sector.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of non-profit financial management and regulatory requirements is a plus.

Secretary

Job Title: Secretary

Organization: The United Brotherhood of America

Job Summary: The Secretary will serve as a key administrative officer within The United Brotherhood of America ensuring efficient and effective communication between the Board of Directors, staff, and stakeholders. This position will manage records, coordinate meetings, and support the organization's governance and compliance requirements. The Secretary plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and smooth operation of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all organizational documents, including minutes of board meetings, bylaws, and policies.

  • Prepare and distribute agendas, notices, and materials for board meetings and other official meetings.

  • Record and transcribe minutes of board meetings, ensuring timely distribution to board members.

  • Assist with the scheduling and organization of board meetings, committee meetings, and other events.

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to governance and records management.

  • Serve as a point of contact for board members, staff, and external stakeholders regarding administrative and governance matters.

  • Support the Board of Directors in fulfilling their fiduciary duties and responsibilities.

  • Assist with the preparation and dissemination of reports, correspondence, and other documentation as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in administrative or secretarial roles, preferably in the non-profit sector.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.

  • Knowledge of non-profit governance and regulatory requirements is a plus.
